Tour Update
March 17th, 2010

Hey all! We’re currently relaxing in a hotel in Mitchell, South Dakota. So far we’ve played Seattle, Olympia, Missoula, and Rapid City. We’ve seen some incredible scenery and met some really great people. A shout goes out to Jerry from Rapid City for being the most generous and hospitable dude on the planet! A few key moments so far:
–Mt. Rushmore and some “crazy Third Reich shit”*
–Deserted-ass creepy Wall Drug tourist attraction**
–Jonny took a shower
There are a lot more pictures here
*-Jerry
We also had a chance to finally visit the resting place of a dear old friend. We miss you, Phil.
Glorious TOURture Has Begun!
March 14th, 2010
Tour kick-off show at Plan B was a blast! Almost as fun as the house show at Ali’s house the day after! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported. Now it’s breakfast, coffee, and then off to Olympia!!!
Top Shelf Record to release “A Forest of Polarity” on vinyl on May 18 (May 17th in the UK/Europe)
March 4th, 2010
Hey friends! We are thrilled to announce that we’ll be releasing A Forest of Polarity_, the debut album from Bellingham, Washington’s Rooftops on vinyl. Pre-orders for the album will go up April 1st (heh, no joke) with copies hitting store shelves around the globe on May 18th.
Rooftops take its brand of intricate math pop and layer it generously with acoustic guitars, horns, strings and percussion. The resulting arrangements create an impressive sound uniting math rock and post rock into something bold, new and exciting. The band adds vocals to the mix only sparingly but at brilliantly timed intervals for maximum effect. It is the bold, unbridled enthusiasm of math rock harnessed only by the restraints and subtle nuances of post rock. A Forest of Polarity is the sound of two becoming one. Can you hear it?
The band is streaming songs from A Forest of Polarity on its Myspace page. Additionally, you can download an mp3 for the song “Raft Easily” here.
Beginning next Friday, Rooftops will embark on a month-long trek across the US with good friends The Americas. Check the dates below:
